Replacement of Obsolete Packaged Air-Conditioning Units
The above condition has prompted Petron Megaplaza Condominium Association to embark on a major undertaking of replacing the remaining 27 obsolete Packaged Air-Conditioning Units of the building on a 5-year contract agreement with Hi-Cool Engineering Corporation. The retrofitting works were completed in 31 weekends without disruption to the business operations of the building tenants. Out of the 40 old Mitsubishi reciprocating-type air-conditioning units in the building, 37 units were replaced using Hitachi
PACU. As a result, the following milestones were achieved with the operation of the new air-conditioning units:
1. 26.56% reduction in the building’s actual average power consumption from 3,791.67 kW in year 2012 to 2,784.54 kW in year 2018. This has translated to an average savings of Php 4,717,441.13 per month.
2. 100% emergency power supply of the building during power interruption.

At Bayleaf, we always strive to reduce operating cost while at the same time adhere to an excellent service standard to delight our guest. With Hi-cool’s innovation (installation of heat recovery system) We enjoyed the unexpected but welcome benefit-free hot water used in our hotel’s guest showers. Not having to use industrial water heaters decrease our load translating to a lower demand charge from Meralco and lower power consumption. The Hitachi water-cooled screw-type packaged air-conditioner amd the water-cooled screw chiller from Japan are exceptionally reliable, durable and cost efficient.
